Our intern Julia

Spring is quickly fading into summer and our Spring crops are bumpin’. The Farm is turning out beets, carrots, chard, 4 varieties of kale, turnips, lettuces, peas, garlic, cabbages, herbs and today we had our first taste of summer with a crate of zuchini. Big up to our self-less intern crew and our fearless farmer- Hubert. Its amazing what comes out of 2 acres!

SO WHERE DOES ALL THIS FOOD GO?

People’s Grocery launched a modified low-income CSA entitled the “GRUB BOX” at the beginning of this month, which provides an overflowing box of fruits and veggies to residents of West Oakland at $12 per box. In order to provide these fruits and veggies at this price, we offer Grub Sponsorship boxes at $24 per box to help make the resident box possible (the 2 boxes are identical). Hit us up at: (http://www.peoplesgrocery.org/content/article.php/grubbox) for more info on the Grub Box.

A Grub Sponsorship Box connects you to our farm fresh flavors and is another step forward together in creating a just food system in West Oakland.

Turnip dem beets to the rhythm of FOOD JUSTICE!
